Bachchan Bol Launch Amitabh Bachchan Phone Blog
Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan — who is not just a Bollywood icon but also an avid blogger — has now launched a new voice blog called Bachchan Bol where he plans to regular record the latest happenings in his life using his own voice.
Fans of Amitabh Bachchan can dial (022) 505678910 from their mobile or landline phones to hear the actor speak or they can even record their own voice comments. Amitabh Bachchan told the BBC that he would record at least twice a week for his “vocal blog” and that he’ll continue to write his (massively popular) blog just as before.
Bachchan Bol is a premium mobile service so you’ll have to pay around Rs. 6 per minute. This may also mean that phone users outside India currently won’t have the facility to dial into Bachchan’s voice blog.
How Bachchan Bol Service Works
You can think of Bachchan Bol as a pre-recorded podcast. The only difference is that you need a computer with an Internet connection to download podcasts but in the case of Bachchan’s phone blog, all you need is a phone connection which most people in India already have.
Here’s a quick video (in Hindi) that explains how the Bachchan Bol service works .

Watch Bollywood Movies on YouTube
Some great news for movie buffs.
You can watch some of the popular Bollywood movies on YouTube for free using this page. These are full-length videos so you can just connect you computer to the large TV screen, grab a snach and watch movies from the couch with your whole family.
The collection is currently limited to Hindi movies from film producers like Shemaroo Entertainment, Rajshri and UltraHindi. And like most other YouTube videos, you can embed these movies on your site as well.
For example, here’s one of my favorite Bollywood movie -- Sarkar (the Indian version of The Godfather starring Amitabh Bachchan). I can watch this movie anytime, anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection.

The movies are available in both High Quality and Standard Quality versions. For a list of full-length English movies that are currently available for viewing on YouTube, go to this page. Thanks Brajeshwar for the tip.

Boyle: 'I'm fine after intruder scare'

Susan Boyle has insisted that she is feeling "fine" after finding an intruder in her house last night.
Earlier today, it emerged that the Britain's Got Talent star had discovered the male on her staircase as she arrived home just before 10pm. He then fled from the property and the 48-year-old called police.
Speaking outside her residence in Blackburn, West Lothian today, Boyle commented: "I'm fine. It's in the hands of the police now."http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/09/48/160x120_starsnaps_js_susan_boyle.jpg
Officers are understood to have detained a 16-year-old last night, but he has since been released without charge.
BBC News reports that police are now appealing for witnesses, describing the intruder as white, between 15 and 16 years old, between 5ft 4in and 5ft 8in tall, with a slim build. He was reportedly wearing a dark jacket and dark trousers last night.
A police spokesman said: "The owner was very distressed to find someone had been within her home and we are keen to speak to anyone who can assist with our investigations."

Jude Law has said he plans to concentrate on the role of fatherhood. Skip related content

The actor, who was honoured for Best Shakespearean Performance at the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards for his stage role as Hamlet, was asked ahead of receiving his gong if he had any more theatre roles in the pipeline, but replied: "No roles at all - apart from being a dad."
The actor has three children from his previous marriage to Sadie Frost and last year he fathered a baby girl named Sophia with American model Samantha Burke.
In recent months, speculation about Jude's personal life has centred around his ex-fiancee Sienna Miller.
Jude described Hamlet as "the dream role", adding that the part "opens itself up very much to the individuality of the actor".
The London production of Shakespeare's tragic tale was one of the hottest tickets in the West End last year and Law reprised the role for US theatre-goers when the play transferred to Broadway.
Receiving his award, Jude said: "This came as a huge surprise and means an incredible amount to me."
Rachel Weisz was named Best Actress for playing fading beauty Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Back in 1994, the Lovely Bones actress bagged the Most Promising Newcomer prize for Design For Living.
Wearing a black dress and high heels, Rachel told the audience: "I hope to come back to the London stage some time soon. It was a really thrilling, exhilarating experience."
The Most Promising Newcomer award went to The Boat That Rocked movie star Tom Sturridge for his role in Punk Rock.

Twilight stars rock in The Runaways

Good news for Twilight fans. As well as the third instalment of the vampire saga which is out later this year, there will be another chance to catch some of its stars thanks to new film The Runaways.

Based on the real story of the teenage all-girl group of the same name, it sees Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning playing rockers Joan Jett and Cherie Currie.
"This is different for me most of all because it's playing a real person and actually real life things that actually happened," said 15-year-old Dakota, who starred as Jane in New Moon.
Kristen meanwhile, said her decision to do the movie had nothing to do with trying to break free of her tween image: "I choose things for reasons that I don't even know. For some reason I really feel something more for this particular thing. It wasn't like I was thinking 'Oh, I really want to do something edgy because I had been doing "Twilight."
The real Joan Jett acted as executive producer on the indie feature, which is being hotly tipped at The Sundance Film Festival.
She said: "I always knew The Runaways was a great idea and that I thought we were an awesome band then," said Jett. "And I was shocked when people didn't get it. But yeah, I'm pleasantly overwhelmed at all the buzz on it. It's really great."

The best new play was Jez Butterworth's "Jerusalem," for which Mark Rylance also won the best actor prize for his performance as drug dealer and wastrel Johnny "Rooster" Byron.
Rupert Goold scooped the best director prize for "Enron," about the collapsed U.S. energy trading company. The work is transferring to the West End amid rave reviews.

Bailey Rae heals grief with music

Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae has revealed she became fixated on the grieving process in the months after her husband died.
It's not as if Bailey Rae acted inappropriately after the death of Jason Rae from a drug overdose in 2008. The star, who dazzled the music world in 2006 with her sunny, silky self-titled debut, dropped out of sight after the tragedy.
She spent a good part of her day simply resting and, when she felt like it, taking walks or spending time with loved ones.
She said she was also confused, in a haze, not knowing how to go forward after the destiny she thought she had was forever altered.
"I'm not familiar with that kind of shock that lasts all that amount of time," the 30-year-old recalled. "It just sort of takes ages to sink it. You feel it and then you don't feel it; you know what's happened and then you don't really know what happened. ...
"Somebody wrote me a letter saying that you need to surrender to it, which I was like, 'Well, how do I surrender?'"
While Bailey Rae still has not come to terms with her loss, she has determined that the grieving process is unique and different for everyone.
And for her, it included channelling her emotions into her music. The result is her touching, tender new album, The Sea, started before the death of her husband but finished more than a year later.
"There are other people that have had these similar experiences ... all different kinds of loss, and I feel like a lot of people don't really sing about it in popular music," said an upbeat, reflective Bailey Rae during a recent interview.
"I want to be that one voice that is saying that this is also a human experience that is worth making music about."
