The actor, who was honoured for Best Shakespearean Performance at the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards for his stage role as Hamlet, was asked ahead of receiving his gong if he had any more theatre roles in the pipeline, but replied: "No roles at all - apart from being a dad."
The actor has three children from his previous marriage to Sadie Frost and last year he fathered a baby girl named Sophia with American model Samantha Burke.
In recent months, speculation about Jude's personal life has centred around his ex-fiancee Sienna Miller.
Jude described Hamlet as "the dream role", adding that the part "opens itself up very much to the individuality of the actor".
The London production of Shakespeare's tragic tale was one of the hottest tickets in the West End last year and Law reprised the role for US theatre-goers when the play transferred to Broadway.
Receiving his award, Jude said: "This came as a huge surprise and means an incredible amount to me."
Rachel Weisz was named Best Actress for playing fading beauty Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Back in 1994, the Lovely Bones actress bagged the Most Promising Newcomer prize for Design For Living.
Wearing a black dress and high heels, Rachel told the audience: "I hope to come back to the London stage some time soon. It was a really thrilling, exhilarating experience."
The Most Promising Newcomer award went to The Boat That Rocked movie star Tom Sturridge for his role in Punk Rock.
